Believe it or not, God has a specific purpose for you.
You were created with a purpose and for a purpose.

These bible verses about God’s plan will help you discern the voice of God, navigate your life choices, give you direction, and stay encouraged.

Whether you’re making a difficult decision or just wanting to know God’s will for you in general, spending time in prayer and focusing on solid biblical principles will help you stay on track.

Keep that in mind as you make any and all life decisions.

You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

Seek God’s Will Through Fasting

Sometimes, when facing a really difficult decision or when you’re at then end of your emotionally and spiritual rope, you may want to consider prayer and fasting to discern the will of God.

Fasting has a way of silencing the noise of this world and allowing your spirit to focus on God’s still small voice.

Nehemiah 1:4 When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

Luke 2:37 …and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers.

Sometimes God’s Plan is for You to Wait
(For God’s Perfect Timing)

Wait or take action? It’s hard to say. At times in our life, it’s important to wait on God. You can’t change God’s timetable and his timing is perfect.

I have a hard time waiting and some people wait too long. I try to wait until I think I know the direction he wants me to go, then I pray that he will open the doors I am to walk through and close the doors that he wants closed.

This has been a powerful prayer for me because regardless of human will, no matter what we do, if God closes a door it will remain closed.

Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Habakkuk 2:3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Acts 1:7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”

Conclusion

At the end of the day, God’s plan for you is very personal.
You were created with purpose, on purpose, and for a purpose.

What are your strengths?
What are your passions?

We are the hands and feet of God.

Those two questions can give you clues to God’s plan and purpose for you.

Romans 12:4-5 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

I wish you the best in discerning God’s Plan for your life. When you start walking in your purpose, you’ll have more peace, more joy, and more hope.
