Some students even buy parts separately and build their own devices.

Even if a vape is confiscated, the student holding it at that moment may not be the one who bought it or even used it the most.
As an administrator at a school, the most interesting thing I’ve seen as far as sharing goes is students who were sharing a pair of pants.
Early in the day we saw one student with the jeans on, later that day we saw another student.
Turns out, they were passing the jeans around with the vape in the pocket of the jeans. They’ve also done this with jackets.
Making sure your staff is vigilant is the best thing you can do.
How Big Tobacco and Vape Companies Target Young People
Even though vape companies claim to market only to adults, their strategies reveal a very different truth.
Many vaping brands use colors, designs, and flavors that appeal directly to teenagers.
Flavors such as cotton candy, gummy bear, watermelon ice, and strawberry milkshake are not meant for adults trying to quit cigarettes.
They are meant for kids. They can say what they want, but the flavors above can only be interpreted as meant for kids (at least in my humble opinion).
The designs are also youth-focused.
Devices come in bright colors, sleek shapes, and pastel tones that look more like trendy accessories than nicotine products.
Some vapes resemble highlighters, USB drives, pens, and small cosmetics.
These designs make the products attractive to teenagers and make them easier to hide at school.
Again, if you’re old enough to vape, why would you need a devise or design meant to conceal it?
The marketing itself is often aimed at younger audiences as well.
Companies use social media platforms where teens spend hours every day.
They promote their products through influencers, aesthetic photos, and trendy music.
This creates a culture where vaping is portrayed as fun, modern, and harmless.
Big tobacco companies back many major vape brands, and they have decades of experience marketing to young people.
They know how to create addiction early, shape culture, and make nicotine seem appealing.
Their involvement is a major reason vaping has become such a powerful force among students.
The Many Ways Students Hide Vapes and Vaping at School
Students have become extremely creative when it comes to hiding vape devices.
Because many vapes are roughly the size of a thumb drive or marker, they can be tucked into almost anything.
Some of the most common hiding places include inside hoodie sleeves, pencil pouches, backpacks, socks, waistbands, and inside laptop cases.
Some students use fake school supplies such as hollowed-out markers, water bottles with secret compartments, or pencil sharpeners designed to hide vapes.
Others hide devices inside makeup bags, glasses cases, or even inside the binding of a notebook.
Students also hide vaping itself.
Many exhale into their shirt collars, sleeves, or backpacks.
Some blow the vapor into the toilet or toward ventilation fans.
Others take micro-puffs that produce little to no visible vapor.
Because vape clouds disappear quickly, students can often take a hit without anyone noticing.
Bathroom stalls are one of the most common locations.
Students gather during class changes, between periods, or during lunch to use vapes in groups.
Some students even act as lookouts for each other.
These hiding techniques make it incredibly difficult for schools to catch students in the act and prevent the behavior from spreading.
