Fearfully and Wonderfully Made- What is Your Purpose?

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14)

So many people spin their wheels trying to find happiness without thinking about their purpose.

The constitution even mentions the right of people to the “pursuit of happiness”.

Our forefathers recognized that happiness is something you pursue and maybe you catch it… but maybe you don’t.

In today’s verse (psalm 139:14), the writer gives praise to God because he is fearfully and wonderfully made.

He goes on to say that God’s works are wonderful.

Those works include the beauty of this world but also you and I.

We are his most wonderful work.

As you build your business today, direct your focus on purpose.

God has created you uniquely for a specific purpose and to serve a purpose.

Every fiber in your body, every DNA strand, every molecule, and every hair on your head was put there by God as he designed you.

The bible refers to God as the potter and us as the clay.

If you look at the image at the top of this post, it shows a potter creating something out of clay.

You can’t know for sure what it is yet, but the designer has a plan.

Know that there is a plan for you that started with your design.

Instead of a West Coast Custom, you’re a Divine Coast Custom.

Everybody is designed for specific purpose.

When you find that purpose you’ll be happier, more at peace, and full of joy.

But simply pursuing happiness for the sake of happiness will take you down roads and paths that lead you away from your purpose, which will lead you away from happiness.

Another thing to ponder is that your custom design didn’t end at birth.

I don’t know what kind of life you have had so far.

I would humbly suggest though, that life is God’s spinning wheel and He continues to mold you into his final design each and every day.

Joyce meyer at podiumJoyce Meyer tells the story of how she was repeatedly molested by her own father growing up.

I work with kids and that is absolutely one of the worst (if not THE WORST) things I can think of to happen to a child.

But in the end, she was able to find closure and forgiveness.
Incomprehensible to me, but amazing just the same.

As bad as that situation was, God used it to his glory and to mold her into who she is today.

She now speaks to audiences across the globe and pours out hope to millions of people across the world.

God is actively using your life, your experiences, your success and failures, and your relationships to mold your emotions, beliefs, and spirit into what he wants them to be.

Your life up to this point has brought you to where you are.

Every experience, good or bad, has molded you into who you are and is an indicator of who you are becoming.

The sum total of you as a person is different from every other person on the planet.

You are incredibly remarkable and empowered to do things in a way that is uniquely your own.

Take some time today to think about your strengths.

Think about how you can use your strengths, talents, and gifts to pursue purpose in all areas of your life.

nic vujicic standing in front of crowd.Nic Vujicic was born without arms and legs.

After a grueling childhood he found his purpose.

Everybody has a purpose and was designed for a purpose.

You may need to re-frame some of your beliefs.

How you interpret what happens or has happened to you can have a profound effect on how you interact with life.

Tony Robbins calls it the story or the context.

The difference between victory and defeat during the trials and trauma of this world can often be traced back to the story we have created to interpret what happened.

The harder your life has been, the more grit you have and the better your ability to help others who have gone through similar situations.

Almost all the great leaders or massively successful entrepreneurs I know of, have had to overcome some serious stuff.

Stuff that would knock others down for the count.

But overcoming these barriers, obstacles, and hardships have made them stronger than others and in some ways actually set them up for success.

Be careful how you interpret your reality and the events in your life.

If you’re living and breathing….
If you’re reading this right now…
God’s not done with you yet!

You’re being fearfully and wonderfully made every day, with every experience (good or bad).

Careful how you interpret your reality & the events in your life. God's not done. You're being fearfully and wonderfully made every day, with every experience. Share on X

Your physical form is already made, but your spirit is being formed every day into the likeness of God.

Living a life of purpose is the only way you’ll find true joy and meaning.

If you’d like to learn more about having a relationship with your Potter, the Creator of heaven and earth… I’d be happy to show you how.

God Bless,

 Questions for Reflection/Action Steps

  1. What gifts, talents, or abilities do you have that may be a clue to the purpose you were created for?
  2. You were fearfully and wonderfully made. Where in life have you been settling for less than your potential? Commit to doing something specific in the next 24 hours that will get you in touch with your purpose.
  3. Reassess your business and see if you are living your purpose or if the business is a distraction. If it’s a distraction to your purpose, how can you transition to a life of purpose or bring more purpose into your business? This action step (if done with brutal honesty) can be painful and scary, but in the end, it can be life changing.

Prayer

I praise you God for creating me with a purpose and for a purpose.

Please show me over the next few days what my purpose is and how I can spend more time doing the things I was created for.

Thank you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You are the Great I AM.
